Florida Realtors to attempt Guinness world record

ORLANDO, Fla. – July 29, 2011 – Florida Realtors® will attempt to break a Guinness World Record on Sept. 9, 2011, as part of Realtor Safety and Security Month. The state association hopes to have more than 10,000 people participate in its “Safety and Security Program,” which is open to Realtor members, their families and members of the local community.

The Guinness world record category is “Largest Business Lesson, Multiple Venues.” Florida Realtors will connect to local state associations via satellite to create a large videoconference using a live broadcast.

“I am very excited to be a part of this historic event,” says Andrew Wooten, Florida Realtors safety expert and a safety consultant with the National Association of Realtors® (NAR). “Florida’s Safety and Security Program not only offers real estate licensees three hours of continuing education (CE) credit, it provides the education, tools and resources necessary to create safe workplace environments.”

“For the 21st century Realtor, education is essential,” says 2011 Florida Realtors Professional Development Chair Patti Ketcham. “This record attempt will not only provide free education to our members, but also build stronger community ties as Realtors learn side-by-side with their fellow Floridians about how to better ensure their personal safety and security.”

Sponsor packets and marketing flyers have been sent to local associations, and Realtors, families and the public may now register online for the conference.
