DBPR sponsors financial crimes conference

ORLANDO, Fla. – Sept. 18, 2012 – The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) is sponsoring a 2012 Financial Crimes Conference on Oct. 26, 2012, at the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) College of Law in Orlando.

The free one-day event will highlight the important role that real estate and appraiser professionals have in ensuring the integrity of real estate transactions, according to officials with DBPR’s Division of Real Estate.

Real estate and appraiser licensees who attend the entire seminar can earn up to five hours of “specialty” continuing education credit for their current license renewal cycle; additional types of CE credits may be available for other professions.

Keynote speakers include U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Florida Robert O’Neill, and Fernando Ramos, assistant special agent in charge of the Tampa, Fla., and San Juan, Puerto Rico field offices for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Registration for the event is free and space is limited.  You can register online.

The Division of Real Estate will confirm the registration and provide directions to the seminar location before Oct. 26. Still have questions? Call the Division of Real Estate at 407-481-5662.
